It's okay to start small, you're growing

Trichotillomania is represented by a daisy, a symbol of growth and renewal.

About Tether

Tether is an app (not available yet, still in development) that helps people with Trichotillomania break the habit. It is open source and community funded, free to use for everyone who needs it.

Trichotillomania is a body-focused repetitive behavior characterized by the compulsive urge to pull out one's hair. Tether aims to provide support, tracking, and coping mechanisms to help manage this condition.

The Story

Illustration of a person bouncing back after a struggle with Trichotillomania.

I've had Trichotillomania since I was 8 years old. Now at 20, I'm still fighting it every day. This journey has been challenging, but it has also given me insight into what might help others facing the same struggle.

I'm building Tether to create the tool I wish I had when I was younger - something that understands the compulsions, provides gentle reminders, and helps track progress without judgment.

My hope is that Tether can be a companion for anyone trying to manage Trichotillomania, offering support when it's needed most.
